Smile Makeover

Our office teams up with world class dental laboratories which Dr. Ford has individually picked to help achieve amazing result. Dr. Ford works with the lab to customize the process to give an unsurpassed level of quality, and an unsurpassed level of esthetic. To make a truly beautiful smile it takes an amazing team, an artistic eye, and experience with how to achieve the perfect smile with every case. Below is a rundown of the process

The Smile Process

Step 1

A complete exam is done which includes a photo shoot, x-rays, and periodontal (gum) health check. From here Dr. Ford uses this information to start planning what is possible. Dr. Ford works with the patient to try to meet their desires while giving his analysis of your smile and what's possible. Occasionally, we will need to work with an amazing team of specialists to deliver added treatments if needed. In this case, gum sculpting was done by our periodontist.

Step 2

Now that the plan is in place, Dr. Ford will shape and clean up the teeth as needed, with some cases like this one needing no drilling. The patient is put in temporaries aka prototypes to have a blueprint for the final restorations. These can be customized so that the general look is what the patient was looking to achieve and gives the lab an outline to follow.

Step 3

After the patient has worn the temporaries, the patient is brought back to provide feedback on the veneers. This feedback and the prototypes allow the master creamiest the blueprint to make the new smile.

Step 4

The patient has the new veneers or restorations tried in to see the look and verify they like the look and color. The veneers are then cemented in and cleaned up. Dr. Ford takes pictures for the final follow up appointment to verify the esthetics.

Step 5

At this last appointment usually one week post insertion, Dr. Ford will apply finishing touches as needed, rechecks the bite and takes final photos.

Maintenance is a key to maintaining your smile. Regular teeth prophylaxis is required and should be done every 3-6 months. Veneers if treated properly should look and feel good for up to 10-15 years. Some patients will have an adaptation for the first month as the muscles and tissues adapt to the new teeth.

Technology

If you have ever needed a crown, veneer, bridge, or denture, you familiar with the sensation of biting into unpleasant putty. Aside from the mess and unpleasant taste, accurate impressions have always been one of the more difficult procedures to perform consistently.

Changing the face of dentistry, Trios digital technology ensures a more accurate impression from the start, designed to result in a better-fitting restoration. Aside from superior results, Trios digital impressions also allow an enhanced experience for the patient. There is less time in the chair, more comfort during the appointment, and less need for follow up appointments!

Our dentist uses Digital X-rays instead of traditional photographic film. Digital X-rays provide a lot of detail and allow your dentist to find cavities, check the health of the tooth root and bone surrounding the tooth, check the status of developing teeth, and monitor the general health of your teeth and jawbone.

Digital X-rays use less radiation than traditional X-ray. There is no wait time for Digital X-rays to develop as the images are available on screen a few seconds after being taken. They can then be enlarged on a computer screen. This makes it easier for your dentist to show you any problem areas you may need to be aware of.
Why use a microscope in dental medicine? Simply put, many of the things that we are evaluating and treating are small, so small, that many times we must visualize with a high-output, high-magnification LED-powered microscope to affect the most effective treatment for our valued patients. ENT’s, neurosurgeons and other medical specialists who routinely deal with minute surgeries, have been using high-powered magnification for decades, though few dentists have followed suit, unfortunately. In Dr. Jared Ford’s opinion, the increased visualization and information gleaned from the usage of a microscope results in more precise, deliberate, and improved patient treatment outcomes.
